Design work
I have done a great deal of design work during my career. Here are some selected pieces.
Smithville - Homecoming Collateral
In 2019, Johnson C. Smith University decided on the Homecoming theme of "Smithville" a play on the "Dreamville" music festiville. The t-shirt simply had the word "Smithville" in the style of Dreamville and we worked to make sure that the collateral was similar to that of the music festival, only with a Gold and Blue theme (JCSU's colors).

Infographics
I enjoy creating interesting ways to showcase information.

General Collateral
I have also created a number of day-to-day pieces: posters, flyers, schedules

Poster for partnership with Coke where students could get custom cans with their names on them.

Sports activation poster. To this day, the background of this poster is one of my favorite things that I have ever designed.

Invitations for various events. One was a seminar of using the website, the other was a schedule of a lecture series held by JCSU's Communications and Marketing team.

The front cover for the Founders' Day Convocation ceremony program.

The Virtual CIAA Schedule the year that the CIAA Basketball Tournament was held virtually due to COVID restrictions.

The front cover for the University's Baccalaureate Service. I also took the photo for this cover with a drone.

Two examples of campus maps that I have drawn in Illustrator over the years.

A mockup for a phone app icon for the IT department using the outline of the University's historic arch.
Smithmoji
One of the most enjoyable projects I participated in was the creation of the "Smithmoji" - custom emojis using JCSU's mascot, the Golden Bull. It was challenging to transform the bull into something so round and so, kawaii, so cute, but I think that the end results speak for themselves.

COVID Collateral
During our two years in quarantine, I created a number of graphics that were ready to go in case the University got the go ahead to move back to campus. Though none of it was ever used, here are a pair of examples.

This was a proof of concept for an idea to solicit children's drawings and use them on posters to remind people to wash their hands, if not for themselves for the safety of their community and all the lives that our campus community touches. Several were created and they would have gone up in bathrooms across campus.

Gonfalons
When the University replaced their gonfalons in 2022, I was the one who designed them according to the University's current branding.

Email Headers
I have also designed emails and email headers for the University for the past decade and an half.

I really love how the simple addition of bull's horns to the regular Giving Tuesday logo created the top of the heart and branded it specifically to the University.
